• Dr. Konsoer received the LSU Alumni Association Rising Faculty Research Award for 2019. This award acknowledges faculty at the rank of assistant professor who have outstanding records of scholarship and published research.

• Sumaiya Siddique has accepted an offer to join our research group at LSU as a PhD student in Fall 2019. She is interested in studying natural hazards and society vulnerabilities to flooding and hurricanes.
